After 100 years, AXX feels necessity of constitution!

GUWAHATI, May 26: Fact is, indeed, stranger than fiction – the Axam Xahtya Xabha has been making do without a constitution for a century. The necessity of the constitution is felt by the Xabha only when it has entangled itself in a logjam that has led its president and secretary general to be relieved in the run-up to its Sivasagar session only to join it later. The Xabha is still to be free from controversy after the rejoining of the president and the secretary general. Now in order to get an instrument in place to tackle various problems in it, the Xabha is now going for reforms. From tomorrow two AXX sub-committees – Xabha reforms committee and constitution committee – will start their respective works, reforms and formation of the constitution.

The members of the reforms sub-committee of the Xabha will huddle together at Bhagawati Prasad Baruah Bhawan to discuss issues like interl conflicts in the AXX.  On May 28, the constitution sub-committee will sit with former presidents, noted intellectuals and AXX branches on the formation of its constitution and submit the report to the president of the premier literary body. The formation of the constitution of the Xabha will be given its fil touches at its Tinsukia session by the executive committee and the delegates’ meet, said the AXX in a statement issued to the press today.
