AGP condemns Centre for PR in Aruchal

Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 27: The AGP has condemned the imposition of President’s Rule in Aruchal Pradesh. President’s Rule was imposed in the Northeastern State on the Republic Day yesterday.

In a statement issued to the press, AGP general secretary Durga Das Boro said: “By imposing President’s Rule in the State the BJP-led Government at the Centre has proved that it hasn’t honoured the verdict of the voters of Aruchal Pradesh. In fighting in a democratically-elected government can’t be the basis for imposition of President’s Rule in any State. Instead of helping the people of the Northeast, the Centre out to deprive the people of the region of their democratic rights. The President’s Rule in the State will have its far-reaching ramifications in the State and the country as well.”
