GUWAHATI, March 2: Apprehensive of the BJP’s juggerut in Assam after the two massive wins in elections in the state, followed by leaders of other parties joining it almost every other day, the AGP, Left parties and other regiol parties of the state huddled themselves together at a meeting today and decided to prepare a common minimum programme so as to bring all anti-Congress and anti-BJP forces in the state together for a third front.

The meeting that was held at the AGP head office at Ambari in the city today was presided over by AGP president Atul Bora. Besides those of AGP, the meeting had representatives from the CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML), Ga Shakti, HSPDP, SP and the NCP.

Terming the Congress corrupt and the BJP betrayer, the meeting decided to stage a protest demonstration in front of the State Assembly on March 11. Besides Atul Bora, the meeting was attended by AGP leaders Phani Bhushan Choudhury, RN Kalita and Durga Das Boro; CPI(M) leaders Hemen Das, Suprakash Talukdar and Isphakur Rahman; CPI leaders Dhrupad Borgohain, Bhogeswar Dutta and Munin Mahanta; Ga Shakti’s Ranuj Pegu; HSPDP’s Chandra Mohan Terang; CPI(ML)’s Pankaj Das, SP’s HRA Choudhury and NCP’s Ripunjay Bora, Prabin Barman and Tribeni Chakraborty.
