AGP panchayat convention in city

Guwahati, Sept 21: The Assam Ga Parishad (AGP) will sound panchayat poll bugle in Guwahati on Friday. With this purpose, the party is going to organize a panchayat convention here tomorrow. Party representatives from all areas except BTAD and other sixth schedule areas will join the convention. The move also cleared that the air that the party, which is an ally of the State government, will go it alone in the panchayat polls. AGP president Atul Bora said, “We have never tied up with any party in panchayat polls. This time also majority of the party workers have wanted fight the poll alone.” The BPF will also contest panchayat polls alone outside BTAD.
