AGVB observes Vigilance Awareness Week

GUWAHATI, Nov 1: Like every year, this year also Assam Gramin Vikash Bank observed Vigilance Awareness Week from Monday to be continued till November 5 in accordance with the guidelines of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

The awareness week started with Vigilance Pledge by all the employees of the bank spread across 414 branches of the Bank. At head office, the programme started with introduction by  Ajit Kr Neog, Chief Mager (Vigilance department) explaining the objective of the function.

He further informed that as part of public participation, bank is organising customers meetings and “awareness gram sabha” at panchayats for dissemition of awareness in gaon panchayats to sensitise citizens on ill effects of corruption at all the branches of the bank with display of posters and banners for wide publicity.

The outgoing Chairman of the Bank, Shio Shankar Singh explained the thrust given on public participation and reaching out to rural public through Regiol Rural Banks as most of the branches are located at rural and remote areas of the State. This was stated in a press release.
