AIDSO demands immediate steps in providing textbooks

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Jan 19: The All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO) alleged that the schools under Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) have not started the academic routine of class IX and X in the state as the state government has not provided the new textbooks in the schools till date. AIDSO state president Jitendra Chaliha said in a statement today: “The Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Limited (ASTPPL) has not supplied the new textbooks of Class IX and X till date, for which the students and teachers could not start the academic routine. This shows the failure of the education department of state government. We, therefore, demand to take immediate steps in this regard and publish the new textbooks soon in fair price for the poor students.”
