By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Feb 22: All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO), along with students of various educatiol organizations of the city, today staged a rally from Guwahati Club to Dighalipukhuripar where they staged a dhar in support of their demand to stop the attack on the students, jourlists and general public on the JNU incident.

AIDSO state president Jitendra Chaliha told the press today: “Commul groups and other organizations like RSS and others have started to attack the students, jourlists and general public in the me of anti-people activities initiated by some students in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on February 9. This is not based on facts. The students, who shouted slogans against the country and in support of Afjal Guru, were from the organization Democratic Students’ Union (DSU), but not from the Democratic Students Organization (DSO). However, the Delhi Police and the commul groups started to attack all the students, especially the Leftist students, in the me of controlling the situation, which is not democratic. We condemn the activity of those anti-tiol  students and activists, but we also condemn the unlawful activities of the commul groups. We, therefore, protest this act of the BJP government and the RSS and demand immediate stop to the attack on the innocent people.”
