GUWAHATI, July 21: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today alleged that Sarbanda Sonowal led BJP government in the State has hatched conspiracy to divide the people of Central Assam with an eye to weaken the movement of the people of Raha over AIIMS site. APCC secretary Bibhuti Bushan Borthakur in a statement said that BJP MLA Pijush Hazarika is trying to divide the people by forming the ‘Jagiroad AIIMS Demand Committee’ over night. One person was killed in police firing when local residents of Raha in gaon district blocked the tiol highway demanding setting up of a proposed AIIMS there instead of Changsari in Kamrup. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal on Tuesday said he would write a letter to the Centre highlighting the concerns of the people of Raha over AIIMS site.
