Reacting to the statement, on behalf of the AIUDF, its students’ wing United Democratic Students’ Front (UDSF) said: “At the time when the minorities of the State should be united for their existence, such a divisive statement from the AAMSU president is unfortute. He has nothing to do for whose behest Ajmal is in politics. Inside and outside Parliament, he is vocal on all issues – floods and erosion, foreigners, NRC update and the like. On the foreigners’ issue he has moved the Supreme Court. It is known to the people of Assam well at the best of which political party the student leader has made such a statement.”
