Ajmal in AAMSU's firing line now

GUWAHATI, Sept 23: Now AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal is in the firing line of the All Assam Minority Students’ Union (AAMSU). Earlier he was in the firing line of Assam Minority Development Board (AMDB) chairman Muminul Aowal.
As though taking cue from AMDB chief Aowal, now AAMSU president Ajijur Rahman trained his gun at Ajmal. At a public meeting at Jogigopha recently, Rahman said: “That sort of politics being played by Ajmal harms the Muslims in Assam.”
Reacting to the statement, on behalf of the AIUDF, its students’ wing United Democratic Students’ Front (UDSF) said: “At the time when the minorities of the State should be united for their existence, such a divisive statement from the AAMSU president is unfortute. He has nothing to do for whose behest Ajmal is in politics. Inside and outside Parliament, he is vocal on all issues – floods and erosion, foreigners, NRC update and the like. On the foreigners’ issue he has moved the Supreme Court. It is known to the people of Assam well at the best of which political party the student leader has made such a statement.”
