GUWAHATI, Sept 22: AJYCP has asked the state and central governments to stop the move to amend the Indian Citizenship Act. In a statement on Thursday AJYCP President Biraj Kumar Talukdar threatened of an intensified Assam Agitation to resist the move. “A slew of recent moves in Delhi beyond doubt has proved that the BJP-led Government at the Centre has been least bothered on the Bangladeshi immigrant issue,” said Talukdar. “Instead the rendra Modi Government is keen to have a huge Hindu Bangladeshi vote bank to ensure a better political career of the BJP leaders,” the AJYCP leader further said. AJYCP also appealed to the amendment panel members not to clear it which could cripple socio- economic and political spheres of Assam. It also warns the political leaders of the state not to fall in Delhi’s trap.
