AJYCP raps government on ESMA in oilfields

BY OUR STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI, Aug 18: AJYCP has expressed grave concern over the enforcement of ESMA in the oilfields to stop the voice of protest against the auction of 12 margil oilfields in the state. In statement released here on Thursday, AJYCP president Biraj Kumar Talukdar dubbed it a step to gag the voice of protest.  “This is another move of the BJP-led governments in Centre and State to gag the voice of protest,” he said.  Talukdar said that the government is creating an emergency like situation. “Are we heading for yet another emergency-like situation? People in this country are denied the right to raise the voice of protest.” AJYCP further has taken serious note of the outbreak of the killer malaria, Japanese encephalitis and dengue in many parts of the state. Taking a dig at Himanta Biswa Sarma, Talukdar said, “We don’t understand why he has announced more medical colleges instead of uplifting the existing medical colleges and civil hospitals. The lack of proper care and facilities has forced the patents to prefer the private hospitals.”
