AJYCP smells a rat in RSS ‘design’

GUWAHATI, Dec 30: The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva-Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has smelt a rat in the RSS’ recent programme on the Kareng Ghar premises in Sivasagar, and questioned the very intention of the footfall of the Sangh activists there. The Parishad does not even approve RSS’ cleanliness drives in the State.

In a statement issued to the press today, the AJYCP said that the RSS seems to have invited more and more wrath for its highly questioble presence on the Kareng Ghar premises. The Parishad has cast doubts over the intention of the Sangh activists thronging the historic premises and raising slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Joi’.

AJYCP president Biraj Kumar Talukdar said that the RSS’ ‘hue and cry’ on the Kareng Ghar premises has generated ‘no less undercurrent of hatred and disturbance among the people in the area’.

Talukdar said: “Since the people of Assam are firstly proud of their identity as Assamese, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Joy’ is quite irreverent in this context.”

The AJYCP president alleged that the ‘organization is trying to mix history with religious sentiment and that it can foment trouble anywhere and at anytime’.

Talukdar warned the RSS to refrain from such activities in future and questioned its silence when there was flood in Assam.

“Adequate rainfalls keep Assam clean on every passing day and hence cleanliness drive does not make any sense. A questioble cleanliness drive by a bunch of people from RSS seems to have misled the youths of Assam and hence the entire campaign was not more than a circus,” Talukdar said.
