Akhil Bharat Gramin Dak Sewok Sangha stages dhar

GUWAHATI, February 24: The Akhil Bharat Gramin Dak Sewak Sangha (ABGDSS) staged dhar in front of Meghdoot Bhawan today in support of its demand for regularization of the employees under the Gramin Dak Sewak (GDS) and regular payment of their salaries.

The Sangha said that the though Seventh Central Pay Commission has already been started, no committee for the GDS employees has been formed as yet. “If the Commission does not include the GDS employees under its schemes, the GDS employees will have to bear the brunt,” the agitators said. The Central Government has already regularized part-time and casual labourers, and as such the GDS employees should also be regularized, the Sangha said, and added: “If our demands aren’t met, we are going for an indefinite protest from March 10, 2015 to get our demands fulfilled.”
