All roads lead to AT Road Shyam Mandir!

GUWAHATI, April 12: The newly-constructed Sri Shyam Mandir at AT Road in the city has become a spot the visitors and devotees these days. The three-storeyed temple built with a cost of Rs 4 crore has a glass statue of Sri Krish installed there.  The statues of Lakshmi Mata, Rani Sati Dadi, Veer Hanuman, and Santosi Mata will also be installed at the premises. During the ceremony for invocation of life to the status tomorrow, a procession will be taken out in the city with all the statues. Sri Shyam Mandir Pran Pratistha Samiti president Sushil Banka, secretary Amit Dhirasaria and executive president Pramod Harlalka told the press today that the plan of the temple was drawn in 2008 by Pujari Gopal Sharma. However, he had to be on the back foot due a number of obstacles, but a number of courageous people came forward and made the temple a reality, they said.       Ramesh Parvati Jalan doted the land for the temple to the pujari. Now they are going to form a trust to run the temple. The ceremony for invocation of life will conclude on April 14.
