Altaf Mazid invited to Kerala film fest jury

GUWAHATI, June 25: The organizers of 8th edition of Intertiol Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK), to be held from June 26 to June 30 have invited film critic-cum-filmmaker Altaf Mazid as a jury in their short fiction film section. The other two members of the section are filmmakers Ashoke Vishwathan and Ari Allanson of Kolkata and Paris respectively. In previous years Mazid was film critic jury to IFFI (1992), IDFA Amsterdam (1997), YIDFF Japan (2001), and MIFF Moscow (2004), Cannes (2006), Dubai (2012), BIFES Bangalore (2014) besides being invited to Fajr Film Festival of Tehran as guest critic in 1997.  He was a member of selection committee of Indian Panorama (non-fiction) of IFFI (1999), and Assam State Film Awards 2005 (feature). As filmmaker he has won best director prize for Jibon (Life, 1998) in the Seventh Pyongyang Film Festival of Non-Aligned & Developing Countries 2000.
