Angamuthu takes stock on preparation for match

GUWAHATI, Oct 6: Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu on Friday took stock of preparations for the India-Australia T-Twenty Cricket Match at Assam Cricket Association Stadium Barshapara area. The Match will be played on  October 10. 

Angamuthu inspected and supervised all the arrangement made by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) and from government agencies as well. He inspected the roads approaching the stadium constructed by the PWD (R), electrical work done by APDCL, water supply, medical arrangement; disaster magement arrangement etc. After spot verification, the DC chaired a meeting with heads of GMC, APDCL, PWD (R) and (E), officials from district administration, Disaster Magement etc. The DC ordered PWD officials to accomplish the construction and refurnishing work of roads. He also asked them to properly barricade the bank of the Mara Bharalu River.

The DC asked APDCL to help GMC for sufficient power supply and extra light. He requested the GMC commissioner to clean all the drains and garbage in and around the stadium and to erect view cutter on the Lokra to Garchuk and Garchuk to Fatasil Stretch.  He also said that controlling and facilitating a crowd of approximately 75,000 people and their safety and security in and around the 5 kilometre radius of the stadium is the prime concern of the district administration.
