Anganwadi workers demands selection of posts legally

BY OUR STAFF REPORTER

GUWHATI, Feb 4: The Anganwadi teachers of the state, which were appeared in the oral interview for the departmental promotiol selection for around 277 posts of project Supervisors alleged anomalies going on in the selection procedure of the posts.

The All Assam Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association (AAAWHA) working president Rupa Arandhara Gogoi told the press today: “Though, there are many Anganwadi workers working since 10-15 years, the Social Department have notified us to appear for the general interview to get the promotiol rank of Project Supervisor and we appeared in the written test and oral tests on January 17, 29 and 30 respectively. However, the department has started many anomalies in appointing the supervisors and selected some candidates without eligibility criteria. For example, in the Margherita ICDS project of Tinsukia district, where 15 candidates cleared written test with three graduate candidates, no one was selected for the promotiol post after getting the qualified marks in the interview. In Gabharu ICDS project of Sonitpur district also, 16 candidates cleared written test with two graduates, but no one was selected for the same.”

“As per our information, the list of 250 selected candidates, which was uploaded in the website last night, has changed in the morning with different roll numbers and mes. The list was uploaded without the sigture of the Director of the concerned department, and so we doubt on big anomalies in the selection of candidates,” added Gogoi.

Pramila Baruah of Margherita project of Tinsukia said: “When we cleared the written test, the president and secretary of AAAWHA Anjumani Duarah and Girija Dutta said us to submit of Rs 2 lakh each to them to get the job and so, many of us have collected the amount by selling our orments, land and vehicle but could not mage the amount. They told us that who would be able to give the required amount will be selected and now, the list was changed, where many doubtful candidates were selected.”

Gogoi said again: “WE, therefore, demand to stay the process of appointment immediately and start a strong investigation in this regard. We will also file a case in High Court in this regard soon and apply for the justice for us.”
