Annual conference of SAPI iugurated

GUWAHATI, Jan 21: The 24th annual conference of Society of Animal Physiologists of India (SAPI) and tiol symposium on ‘Physiological approaches for development of climate resilient livestock farming’ was iugurated today at the premises of Assam Agricultural University (AAU) of Khpara in the city. The conference was iugurated by chief guest tiol Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) director AK Srivastava, which was presided over by AAU vice-chancellor KM Bujarbaruah. Bujarbaruah said the press: “We have organized the three-day conference to adopt feasible measures to develop climate resilient animal farming. The conference will be attended by more than two hundred delegates from various institutes of the country and abroad and give their views in this regard.” “The symposium will facilitate scientific deliberation on physio-gene-environment approaches for development of production sustaining and climate neutral biotechnological module for livestock and to identify newer areas of collaborative research with scientists of northeast region. It will also make use of expertise of other field for maintaining environment and animal biodiversity, quality of products, human and animal health and welfare,” added Bujarbaruah.
