RTI activist Dulal Bora seeks action against  PWD commissioner MC Boro

GUWAHATI, May 28: RTI activist Dulal Bora has demanded action against the Commissioner and Special Secretary of the State PWD (R) department, MC Boro who allegedly violated the provisions of the Assam Rules of Executive Business.

In a complaint ( a copy of which is available with The Sentinel) submitted to State PWD Minister Ajanta Neog , RTI activists Dulal Bora alleged that Commissioner & Special Secretary of the PWD (R) department, MC Boro issued an order (Memo no. RBEB 61/2005/66-A on January 19, 2015) for reconstituting the panel of lawyers to act as Standing Council for PWD (R) department to represent the Government in the Guwahati High Court /District Court /Administrative Tribul/Lok Adalat/ Human Rights Commission , which has suffered from various illegalities and irregularities.

“No approval of the PWD Minister was obtained by Boro in terms of the provision of the rules of Executive Business before issuance of the order,” Bora alleged.

The RTI activist pointed out that through the order one Hrikesh Buragohain has been appointed as the Senior Standing Counsel of the PWD (R) department but Buragohain has not completed ten years of practice as an advocate which is mandatory for appointing an advocate as Senior Standing Council of a State Government department.

Bora has demanded PWD Minster Ajta Neog to suspend Boro from his post for violation of the provision of the Assam Rules of the Executive Business.
