Anomalies in  land registration,  police grils five

GUWAHATI, March 20: Three persons – Dr. Khabirul, Golap Khan, Jashimnuddin, Latmondal Madhab Baishya and retired registration employee Chand Mahammed – were grilled by Panbazar police on Monday in connection with a land grabbing case filed by ADC Gujit Kashyap. They are likely to be grilled more in the case.

According to police sources, a plot of land (Daag No. 721 and Patta No. 130) measuring three katha and eight lessas at Maligon BG Colony under Jalukbari Mouza has two owners – Deboduti Devi owning two kathas and Dr. Khabirul owning 1 katha and eight lessas. However, during registration the ownership of the land were exchanged – with two kathas being against Dr. Khabirul’s me and one katha and eight lessas in Deboduti’s me.

Meanwhile, Dr. Khabirul has already sold the two kathas to two retired RPF personnel – Golap Khan and Jashminuddin.

ADC Kashyap filed a case {158/18 under section 120(B) 420/423/468} in Panbazar police station in this connection. The police grilled Dr. Khabirul, Latmondal Madhab Baishya, retired registration employee Chand Mahammed, Golap Khan and Jashimnuddin on Monday. They will be grilled on Wednesday again.
