Another rape case filed, accused arrested

DIMORIA, March 29: Incidents of rapes, it seems, see no end in Assam. Yet another such incident has been reported from the Dimoria area on the outskirts of Guwahati.

A married man, Pulak Deka, allegedly raped a six-year-old child on March 28 at Dhupguri under Khetri police station in the Dimoria area. According to information given by the child’s mother, she had to go to the nearby hospital taking Pulak’s wife along and leaving her daughter in Pulak’s house. “He committed the heinous crime taking that advantage,” she said, and added that everything came to light with the child revealing what had happened to her.

Pulak is absconding. With the child’s mother informing the police, the police started an operation. “Pulak has been arrested,” said Khetri PS inspector PK th.
