By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 24: The members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have demonstrated against the eating of meat in a unique way on the occasion of Intertiol Meatless Day on November 25, in front of the Nehru Park in  the city today.

PETA member Neerja Khede said: “PETA youth head Neha Singh from Mumbai, laid ‘dead’ on a large tray covered with clear plastic to mimic a typical package of frozen meat to demonstrate the diverse senses and variety of emotions non-meat eaters feel, and eating meat means literally eating a corpse. The demonstration was done to bring about awareness among the people against eating meat and to encourage people to give ‘going vegan’ a try.”
