AP quiz contest: IIT-G wins first prize

GUWAHATI, Sept 19: In the run-up to the Assam Police Day slated for October 1, the Assam Police conducted an All-Assam Inter-college Quiz Competition at Cotton University on Tuesday. While the team from IIT-Guwahati got the first place with a cash prize of Rs 51,000, the second spot with a cash prize of Rs 31,000 went to Cotton University (CU) and the third place with a cash reward of Rs 21,000 went to Moran College in the competition conducted by ADGP (administration) LR Bishnoi. While the quiz competition was opened by CU vice chancellor Dr. Bhabesh Goswami, Chief Minister’s media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami was present as a distinguished guest at the function. The Chief Minister’s media adviser lauded the step taken by the State Police and said: “The positive steps help eradicate negative activities from society. We need to go ahead with positive thoughts, instead of negative ones.” DGP Mukesh Sahay delivered the welcome address and wished the competitors them success in life.
