APCC begins birth centery of Indira Gandhi

GUWAHATI, Nov 19: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) started the birth centery celebrations of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi at Rajiv Bhawan in the city today. The celebrations began with the paying of floral tribute to the late leader at her portrait by APCC president and MP Ripun Bora and a bhajan by Gauhati University’s best singer Karishma Sarma. Bora gave a detailed account on the life and contribution of Late Gandhi, her farsightedness and boldness. He said that the celebrations would continue for a year. Present at the celebrations were Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia, former Chief Minister Bhumidhar Barman, Ra Goswami, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed and others.
