APCC seeks applications for fighting bye-polls

GUWAHATI, August 31: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has sought applications from party leaders keen to fight the forthcoming bye-polls in Lakhimour Lok Sabha seat and Baithalangshu Assembly seat. In a press release, the State PCC said that the last date of receiving the applications is September 6. Application forms are available in all district Congress committee offices and at Rajiv Bhavan. While the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat was vacated with Sarbanda Sonowal becoming the Chief Minister, the Baithalangshu LAC was vacated following Congress MLA Dr. Mansing Rongpi joining the BJP.
