APCC to hold workshop on NRC update on June 7

GUWAHATI, June 3: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is going to organize a workshop on June 7 to bring about awareness and to sensitize party workers on NRC update, currently underway in the State.

In a statement issued to the press today, the State PCC said that two delegates' committees would attend the workshop in which a few resource persons would impart them training about rules, guidelines and procedures for the filling of NRC forms. The delegates, the statement said, would be sensitized on various documents required for filling of NRC forms and on procedures for inclusion of mes of citizens in the NRC. The delegates would also hold such training in their respective Block Congress Committee (BCC) to help and guide common people about documents required for filling NRC forms and other related matters.

Meanwhile, the APCC has constituted 11-member NRC help committee at each polling station to supervise and monitor NRC update work. The State PCC has also published a handbook in this regard in Assamese, English and Bengali.
