APMC to pay back BJP in its own coin

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, May 6: The Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress (APMC) is set to pay the BJP back in its own coin in protest against, what it said, the killing of Indian soldiers along the border.
The APMC staged a dhar in front of Rajiv Bhawan in the city today against the killing of Indian soldiers along the border. The APMC protestors also burnt the effigy of Prime Minister rendra Modi.
Addressing her members, APMC president Shahz Yasmin Haque said that the armed forces are paying the price due to failure of the government to curb cross-border terrorism and xalism. She recollected that in 2013 BJP leader Smriti Irani had offered to send bangles to the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh when Indian soldiers had been killed along the border. In what could be called as tit-for-tat, APMC collected bangles from the women in Guwahati and asked all APMC district committees to collect bangles and send them to the Prime Minister and Smriti Irani.
