Appointment scam in Transport department?

GUWAHATI, Dec 16: The garik Suraksha Mancha Assam (MA) has questioned the legality in the appointment of as many as 192 grade III and grade IV posts in the State Transport department when Chandan Brahma was at the helm of affairs as minister in the department during 2006-2013. Equipped with information obtained through RTI, MA president Badreswar Barman said: “The 192 posts were filled up without seeking applications from intending candidates through advertisements. This is not all. The department even skipped the holding of interviews while selecting the candidates”. Barman requested the Transport Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
