Article collection released in NE Book Fair

Guwahati, Nov 12: ‘Bhag Mon Bipan Jivan’, a collection of articles on socio-cultural issues, written by development expert Arup Jyoti Kalita was launched today at a function at Mahim Bora Hall of the North East Book Fair here.

Dr R M Pant, Director, tiol Institute of Rural Development, noted educationist Dr Dinesh Baishya, Dr Dilip Kalita, Director, Aunondoram Boruah Institute of Languge Culture and Arts (ABILAC) and Dilip Chandan, Editor of Asom Bani formally released the book.  

Addressing the gathering, Dr Pant threw light on the impact of market economy on society.

Speaking on the occasion, educationist Dr Baishya said that no writer can be successful sans social commitment.

“To be a good writer one must have social commitment and grass root exposure,” he pointed out.

Dr Dilip Kalita spoke about the reflection of social realties in the writings of Arup Jyoti Kalita and on the importance of such books.

Dilip Chandan in his speech recalled writer Kalita’s association with Asom Bani and appreciated Kalita for bringing out the book. A large number of bibliophiles were spotted at the event.
