Asha Karmis cry for job regularization, increment

GUWAHATI, Feb 27: Around 3,000 Asha Karmis under the Sadou Asom Asha Karmi Santha (SAAKS) staged a high-voltage protest demanding increment and regularization of their jobs, at Dispur Last Gate in the city today.

“We’ve been neglected in spite of submission of numerous memorandums to the State Health Minister. We demand for the release of the monthly honorarium of Rs 1,000 as announced by State Government in April 2013 under sanitary schemes and increment of the same in the current Assembly session. Regularization of Jobs of Asha Karmis in line of NHM should be done. We demand for the Rs 10,000 sanctioned by the centre under various schemes for Asha Karmis,” SAAKS president Dipti Devi said.
