ASHA workers' meet held

GUWAHATI, March 23: An ASHA convention was organized by the District Health Society, Kamrup (M) district today at District Library, Guwahati. East Guwahati MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharjee, Kamrup (M) DC M Angamuthu, District Development Commissioner Barli Sharma, and others were present at the meeting. Welcoming ASHAs, Angamuthu, chairman of the District Health Society, said that the ASHA workers are the major pillars of the health system. He said that the district administration, along with District Health Society, is grateful for their unconditiol support and their dedication for health services in the community.  MLA Bhattacharjee praised the ASHA for their hard work and thanked them for their contribution towards betterment in health scerio in the urban zones.  The best ASHA Award was also given to 11 ASHAs, based on their field-level performances, as acknowledge for their dedication towards health services in the community level.  In the convention the grievances of ASHA were also asked and the Joint Director apprised that all their grievances will be reviewed for betterment.
