GUWAHATI, Sept, 21: The Assam State Police Accountability Commission (ASPAC) has taken cognizance of a reported death in police custody in Kokrajhar. The complaint is registered based on a written complaint by Rameswar Basumatary, a resident of Bismuri village under Kokrajhar police station, where he alleged that his son Somlaw Basumatary was killed in custody following police firing. The ASPAC registered a case under Section 78(1) of Assam Police Law, 2007.
