Assam bags award for increased oil crop output

GUWAHATI, April 21: The Centre has extended the Krishi Karma Bota, 2015-16 to Assam for increased production of oil crops in the State. The award to be given away in fiscal 2017-18 carries Rs 2 crore, a citation and a trophy. This apart, two progressive farmers of the State will be awarded Agriculture Minister’s Krishi Karma Bota. The award carries a citation and Rs 2 lakh. State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora congratulated the farmers and agriculture officers of the State for the achievement. He expressed his hopes that the farmers of the State would also be able to occupy the top position in producing oil crops in the State in fiscal 2017-18 as well.
