Assam, Bangladesh to recall maestro

GUWAHATI, Nov 4: The Assam Government is going to recall balladeer Bhupen Hazarika on his fifth death anniversary with a day-long function at his Samadhi Khetra at Jaukbari in the city tomorrow. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and State Cultural Affairs Minister ba Doley will grace the occasion as the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively. Besides paying tribute to the maestro, an all-religion prayer will be held at the Samadhi Khetra. A documentary on the life of Dr. Hazarika will be shown at Rabindra Bhawan in the evening. The Chief Minister will grace that occasion also. Meanwhile, Bangladesh is also going to recall Dr Hazarika. Shilpa Kala Academy and Sangeet Sannidhya of Bangladesh are going to hold cultural programmes tomorrow in memory of the maestro.
