Assam BJP lambasts Rahul Gandhi for RSS remark

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: The Assam unit of the Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) lambasted Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for alleging Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of diving India.

In a statement issued to the media, Assam BJP Spokespersons Dilip Saikia and Subhas Dutta said that the Congress divides India and works against the interests of the farmers, poor people, and unemployed youths.

“The Congress, which ruled the country for over 55 years, had created records for most farmer deaths, number of unemployment and people leaving below the poverty line. These were clearly stated in survey reports carried out by leading agencies. In such a situation, the Congress does not have any right to criticize the Sangh parivaar’s ideologies,” stated Saikia and Dutta in the statement.

They further alleged that people of Assam has not forgotten the 15-year misrule of the Congress government. “The people won’t forget scams like Spectrum and coalgate which the Congress party was involved during the 10-year rule at the Centre. The same Congress party has transformed Assam into a grazing field for illegal Bangladeshis. At such situation, leaders like Rahul Gandhi do not have the right to criticize the RSS and the BJP,” the statement read.

Saikia and Dutta also stated that the there is not even a single allegation of corruption against any BJP minister due to the anti-corruption policy adopted by both the Central and the state Government. “The BJP party won’t be at any loss for any allegation made by Gandhi who himself is involved in Bofors scam,” they remarked in the statement.
