Assam edition of NE India Fashion Week on August 26

GUWAHATI Aug 8: The Assam edition of the North East India Fashion Week, building up for the premier fashion event’s third edition in Itagar later this year, will be held in Guwahati on August 26.

Introducing the third edition of the North East India Fashion   Week on Tuesday, the organizers of the premiere fashion event Affluent Ray of Light said that the latest season would be bigger, brighter and would showcase some of the best talents from the industry.

The Assam edition of the event, christened ‘The Khadi Movement’ at Assam Engineering Institute field, Chandmari on August 26 will be an insight to what is in store for the guests at the three-day fashion extravaganza in Itagar. The event is conceptualized to inspire and encourage the budding handicraft artisans and designers of the region who are working exclusively towards the promotion of northeast fabrics and culture.

The Assam edition of the show will witness the participation of over 50 designers and indigenous weavers.

Speaking in the occasion, Jack Taniya Budh, chief operating officer for the Assam edition said, “A designer’s instinct grasps and creates the best of hisher surroundings into an artistic expression by weaving the stories of ture, comes from a deep understanding and passion of a creative relationship. The NEIFW is a movement to provide a congressiol platform to tell the stories of ture and connect the world through tale-telling clothes and creations.”
