Assam lad Abhishek wins tiol Child Award

GUWAHATI, Nov 15: The tiol Child Award giving ceremony for exceptiol achievement was held on the occasion of Children’s Day on today at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President, Prab Mukherjee gave away the awards to children for their outstanding achievements and to individuals and institutions for contributing to child development and child welfare.

Abhishek Saharia, a student of class XI, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khapara, Guwahati has brought laurels to the state by winning silver medal along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a book voucher of Rs 3,000 for his exceptiol achievement in the field of innovation.

Abhishek Saharia was awarded Inspire Award Certificate for innovation in Science Pursuit by the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development for his innovative project of designing and preparing an infrared blind aid kit.

It may be mentioned here that Abhishek has also secured school gold medal in Science Olympiad conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation and qualified in State level tiol Talent Search Examition (NTSE). Abhishek Saharia is the only son of Tarun Chandra Saharia and Papari Saikia, resident of Jayagar, Sixmile, Khapara. The tiol Child Awards for Exceptiol Achievement give recognition to children with exceptiol abilities in fields such as academics, culture, arts, sports, music etc.
