Assam mofussil scribes on way to MP

GUWAHATI, Nov 24: “The State Government is keen on strengthening the fourth pillar of democracy. The Government has been committed for the overall development of jourlists of the State and has been taking various schemes for welfare of the media persons and their families,” said Assam Chief Minister’s media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami.

Goswami said this while attending the flag-off ceremony of the conducted tour on Goodwill Mission for Rural Media Persons of Assam to Madhya Pradesh held on Friday at the conference hall of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Photo and Film Archive, Hatigaon, Guwahati.

Attending the programme as the chief guest, Goswami said that the tour would give the media persons a unique experience. “They will not only get the chance to visit various important places of Madhya Pradesh, but will also have an opportunity to interact with the Chief Minister, Public Relations Minister, Tourism Minister besides senior officials and jourlists of Madhya Pradesh. The team will also visit ‘Patrika’, a large Media House of the state,” he said, and added: “Acquiring of knowledge and gathering information from the visiting state will give ample opportunity to make the jourlists enriched and also go a long way to scale our State to newer heights of development”. 

Dr. AK Singh, Additiol Chief Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department called on the media persons to shun their inhibitions during the tour and requested them to make best use of this unique opportunity.

Rajib Prakash Barua, Director of Information and Public Relations and Additiol Secretary of Information & Public Relations Department, said 'the main objective of the tour on Goodwill Mission is to give the jourlists an exposure in varied fields, a platform for exchange of ideas, experiences and interaction'.
