Assam partner of Textiles India Fair

GUWAHATI, June 13: Union Textile Ministry is going to hold Textiles India 2017 Fair at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhigar, Gujarat from June 30 to July 2. Prime Minister rendra Modi is likely to iugurate the fair that is set to showcase the strength of India and its various states in textile and apparel value chain from fibre to fashion. During this event intertiol conferences and round-table semirs will also be held with participation from global and tiol leaders of industry, technical experts and senior policy makers from the Centre and the States.

With an exhibition area of about 1,25,000 square metres, over 1,000 exhibitors will showcase their products and  services, 2500+ intertiol buyers and 15,000+ domestic buyers will be attending the show. There will be thematic display of textile arid apparel and handicrafts products.

The show will cover the entire segment of textile industry comprising display of products from exporters and stakeholders, round-table conferences, fashion shows and cultural programmes. With Gujarat being the host state, partner States are Assam and Andhra Pradesh. The focus states are Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Kartaka.

Addressing the press in the city today, Union Textile Ministry Joint Secretary Subrata Gupta gave a detailed account on the textile fair.
