GUWAHATI, Dec 18: NRC authorities have now laid stress on assuaging public fears on mes not figuring in NRC as, they feel, mes of all genuine Indian citizens will be included in the citizenship document before it is filized.
In order to make the general public aware of the nitty-gritty of NRC the authorities in the State say that no loophole is left unplugged to make the NRC update process free from any error. They say that no genuine Indian should panic in the event of his/her me not figuring the part draft publication. All genuine Indians have every right to get their mes entered in NRC after the publication of the part draft and before the fil NRC is published.
On the issue of panchayat certificates submitted by a section of people of the State, State NRC authorities say that verification of all such certificates will be done after the publication of part draft. “Detailed verification of applicants who have submitted gaon panchayat secretary/lot mandal/circle officer certificates will be conducted as per judgment of the Supreme Court. Their verification will be taken up after part publication of draft NRC on December 31, 2017. Their mes, if found eligible, shall be included in the subsequent complete publication of draft NRC,” a source in the State NRC office said, and added: “Claims and objections shall be received from applicants only after complete publication of draft NRC. The fil NRC will be published after disposal of all claims and objections. Applications have the right to move Foreigners Tribuls in the event of their mes not figuring in the fil NRC.” After the publication of part draft NRC on December 31, 2017, it will be notified separately later for the publication of the complete draft.
