GUWAHATI, Dec 27: Purvottar Jajati Shiksha Samiti, Guwahati is going to give away the Krish Chandra Gandhi Award, 2016 to social activist Higio Aruni of Itagar at a function to be held at Itagar on December 29. The award is being given to Aruni for her contribution to society. Samiti secretary Sanchi Ram Payeng made this announcement at a press meet in the city today.
The award carries a citation, a cheleng chador and Rs 51,000.
