Award soon to encourage environmental reporting

GUWAHATI, May 27: The Aranya Suraksha Samiti is going to institute an award to encourage young jourlists to take to reporting on environmental issues.

Samiti’s secretary general Haricharan Das said that the award would encourage jourlists to report factually and help protect the ture and environment.

A daylong workshop on environmental jourlism was organized today by Aranya Suraksha Samiti, in association with the Electronic Media Forum, Assam at Guwahati Press Club.

The Samiti will organize similar workshops in various parts of Assam in the coming days. Former forest official Bhupen Talukdar, senior jourlists Pray Bordoloi and va Thakuria were also present on the occasion.
