Award to healthcare champions

Guwahati, Nov 16: The BMJ Awards South Asia 2016 will be announced on November 19 in New Delhi, a press release said.

“Nomitions have been invited from the South Asia region in numerous categories like healthcare quality, medical education, technological innovation and research and clinical excellence,” said the statement.

In 2015, doctors across South Asia participated in the second edition of the Awards and BJM received more than 900 high-quality nomitions and felicitated 13 individuals and teams that demonstrated remarkable passion and commitment to medicine.

It said that as many as 23 nomitions figuring in the list from the city of Guwahati, out of which five are from Assam Medical College.

This year the awards are back with the promise of a larger perspective supported by over 1500 nomitions from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Myanmar, Maldives, and the winners will receive recognition and appreciation from our eminent jury panel, South Asian media and other healthcare dignitaries.

On the occasion, Prashant Mishra, Maging Director, India and South Asia said, “It is important that innovative work in the field of medicine gets done, and we in turn honor that accomplishment as well as share with you all.”
