Awareness programme on RTI

GUWAHATI, June21: With a view to creating awareness on Right to Information the Assam State Information Commission today organized a Right to Information awareness programme at NEDFi House Auditorium here. As part of the programme, a pel discussion on the role of media in implementation of RTI Act, 2005 was held and it was moderated by retired IAS officer HN Das, State Chief Information Commissioner, in the presence of officials, veteran jourlists and other dignitaries. During the programme, former Commissioner & Secretary of Assam, SP ndy delivered a presentation on the salient features of RTI Act, 2005, while KK Dwivedi, Commissioner & Secretary, Administrative Reforms & Training, Assam gave a presentation on voluntary disclosure under section-4 of the RTI Act, 2005 with special reference to the status of voluntary disclosure by Public Authorities of Assam.
