Axam Xaitya Xabha to felicitate 42 linguists

GUWAHATI, April 29:  The Axam Xaitya Xabha in collaboration with Hemkush Publication and other allied organizations is gearing up to observe Hemchandra Boruah Memorial Day on May 1 in honour of the eminent linguist. In an official communiqué, Xabha president Paramananda Rajbongsi and secretary general Padum Rajkhowa informed that along with the North America Xahitya Xabha, as many as 30 district literary units affiliated to the Xabha will celebrate the day with various sessions. A workshop on spelling of Assamese words by prominent linguists will mark the day. Moreover, Xabha will organize quiz, painting and Assamese dictionary reading competitions among students of various schools, colleges and universities on the day. Xabha will also felicitate 42 linguists in recognition of the contribution they made to the language.
