AXM to hold xatradhikars' meeting from Nov 26

GUWAHATI, Oct 28:  Axom Xatra Mahaxabha (AXM) is going to hold a two-day xatradhikars’ congregation in Guwahati on November 26 and 27.

The AXM took this decision at a meeting at Mathuragar in the city today. The meeting also formed a reception committee with Krish Kanta Mahanta as the president for the congregation. The meeting also approved a number of other decisions. Preparations are on for the congregation.

AXM general secretary Kusum Kumar Mahanta said: “Around 1,000 xatradhikars will take part at the congregation from different xatras. For the xatras that have no xatradhaikars, the maging committee presidents and secretaries will remain present at the congregation. The xatradhaikars will let the AXM know of their problems through their written reports. The congregation will discuss various problems afflicting the xatras, including encroachment. The total area of xatra land under encroachment will also be found out at the meeting.”
