AXX begins preparations for centery celebrations

GUWAHATI, February 16: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) is going to complete 100 years in 2017, and as such it has started all preparations for making the celebrations a grand success.

Taking the centery celebrations into account, AXX executive committee for the term 2015-17 has nomited as many as eight assistant secretaries, one each for its eight regiol committees. The eight assistant secretaries are Samiran Bordoloi for the Jorhat central office, Abanimohan Saharia for the Guwahati regiol office, Deven Kalita for the Diphu regiol office, Dhiren Adhikari for the Dhubri regiol office, Dr Pratashlota Buhagohain for the Dibrugarh regiol office, Padum Rajkhowa for the gaon regiol office, ren Chandra Bora for the North Lakhimpur regiol office and Damudhar Talukdar for the Jalah Language Training Centre, said AXX general secretary Dr. Paramanda Rajbongshi.

The office-bearers’ meeting of the new AXX committee was held at Circuit House in the city today with new president Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora in the chair. Twenty-five district AXX presidents and secretaries were present at the meeting. Dr Bora requested his team to work unitedly so as to make the centery celebrations a grand success. The centery celebrations of the AXX will start from December 27, 2016. Taking the celebrations into account, some new posts of conveners have been created and nomited by the new AXX executive committee. The new conveners, according to Dr Rajbongshi, are Dr Mali Devi Rabha for Akash, Swapjyoti Borbaruah for Kuhi, Ajit Prasad Sarma for Ramdhenu, Nurul Sultan for Juba Sangsad, Amarendra Baruah for the sub-committee for inter-state exchange of thought, Dipankar Hazarika for the registration sub-committee, Ganesh Chandra th for the publication sub-committee, Manik Ahmed for the cultural sub-committee, Dr Parag Kumar Thakur for the centery celebrations, Debojit Bora for the publicity sub-committee, Dakhu Kalita for the language and mother tongue implementation sub-committee.

Dr Rajbonghsi said that as many as 100 translated books would be published during the centery celebrations.
