AXX poll process underway

GUWAHATI, Aug 13: The process for the election of president, vice-president and general secretary of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) for the term 2018-20 is underway, and it is to be completed by December this year. The notification for the election has been issued recently, said AXX’s chief election officer Daso Kalita and election officers Bijan Mahajan and Bhupen Sarma said in a statement issued to the press on Sunday. They said that the election was being held in accordance with the Rule 39 of the literary body. The roll revision of the AXX branches and activation will be over by August 31 this year, and in the draft voter list will be published in the first week of September, they said, and added that the fil roll would be published by September 30, 2017. “The ballot papers will be sent to the AXX branches by October 30 this year. While the polling will be in November, and counting will be on a Sunday in December,” the statement said.
