AXX to publish 'Prithivir Kabita'

GUWAHATI, Sept 4: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) is going to publish a book ‘Prithivir Kabita’ in the run-up to its centery celebrations.

The editorial board of the book to be published by the AXX met at Bhagawati Prasad Baruah Bhawan today with AXX president Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora in the chair. The members of the editorial board are Samir Tanti, Anubhav Tulasi, Nilim Kumar, Bipuljyoti Saikia, Debaprasad Talukdar and Bijay Shankar Barman.  

In a statement issued to the press today, AXX secretary general Paramanda Rajbongshi said: “The AXX is going to present a special gift to the people of Assam in form of ‘Prithivir Kabita’ from all-time best poems of the world like America, Latin America, Europe, Asia etc., translated into Assamese. The AXX is also going to publish another poetry collection – Bharatiya Kabita.

Though the AXX is taking all measures to take forward Assamese literature parallel to the world literature, cash crunch has been one of the main hurdles before it. We expect all help from all in the State.”

At today’s meeting, poets Samir Tanti, Anubhav Tulasi, Bipuljyoti Saikia, Bijay Shankar Barman and Nilim Kumar enrolled themselves as permanent AXX members.
