Ayushman Bharat Divas observed

GUWAHATI, April 30: Synchronizing with the nationwide observation of Ayushman Bharat Divas, National Health Mission Assam and District Health Society Kamrup (Metro) District today organized Ayushman Bharat Divas at Astalakshmi Mandir field at Maloibari on Monday under Dimoria Development Block.

Taking part in the programme as the chief guest Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika said that Ayushman Bharat is a flagship programme launched by the Central Government to provide health protection to over 10 crore underprivileged and vulnerable families covering approximately 50 crore beneficiaries.  He expressed optimism that this programme would be able to bridge the gap between the health schemes and their intended beneficiaries as identification and information collection drive through Gram Sabhas constitute major components of the scheme, a press release said.
Since this is an entitlement based scheme with no formal enrollment process, it is imperative to have an updated beneficiary list which ensures that all eligible families get covered under the programme, he said. This will ensure a hassle-free experience for the beneficiary at the health facility at the time of availing the benefits and also guarantee successful implementation of the scheme. This drive would also be used to create awareness among the beneficiaries on the provisions and benefits of the scheme and methods of availing the same, the release added.
Executive Director of NHM Assam Dr. Achyut Baishya, speaking on the occasion, elaborated the various aspects of the scheme and urged the people to take advantage of the Ayushman Bharat programme and also cooperate with the health workers for successful and swift implementation of the programme.
CEO of Kamrup Zila Parishad Romon Malakar, ADC Health Kamrup Metro Prashanta Kathkotia, Joint Director of Health Services of Kamrup Metro Dr Ganesh Saikia, Maloibari Gaon Panchayat President Monika Mandal were also present at the programme among others which saw participation of nearly 500 people, the release added.
